Meet the staff at the Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic:

Meet our Front Office Providers.  With over 25 years of combined service working for the Clinic, you can be assured that from the moment you walk into the moment you leave, your appointment is handled in a friendly, efficient manner.  Our Front Office staff is responsible for ensuring that you, our patient, is properly registered in our system, scheduling your appointments and follow-up appointments and confirming your data, and ensuring that your payment is accepted when you leave.

Depending on your appointment, you will either meet with our Medical, Dental, or Behavioral Health staff.

Meet our Medical Assistants (MA’s), Registered Nurses, and Medical Providers.  A combined 40 years of service working in our Clinic ensures that all your medical needs will be covered.  First, one of our friendly MA’s will greet you and bring you back to your exam room to take your vital signs, such as height, weight, and blood pressure, and confirm your allergies.  They will also give you any immunizations you may need and are responsible for taking and processing your blood work and lab tests.  Next, you will be seen by one of our experienced providers.  Their job is to examine you and find out how you are doing, review your prescriptions with you to ensure you are taking the correct medications, prescribe any refills you may need, and keep up to date on your general well-being.  If you are a diabetic and/or Native American patient, you might meet with one of our experienced nurses who can help you manage your health care needs by assisting you with wound care and providing patient education.  Depending on your appointment, you may also meet with our Dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment of skin problems, or with our Nutritionist for assistance with weight management, diabetes education, and living a healthy lifestyle.  If you are one of our younger patients, one of our caring pediatricians will manage your care and help you grow up healthy and strong.

Our Registered Dental Assistants (RDA’s), Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), and Dentists handle all your dental needs.  This department has a combined 74 years of service working for the Clinic.  Our friendly RDA’s will bring you back to the dental operatory where they will verify your general dental history, as well as take any x-rays or impressions you might need.  They also assists our Dentists who are responsible for general check-ups, filling any cavities you may have, and creating and installing crowns and dentures.  Our RDH cleans your teeth and makes them shiny and white.

Meet our Behavioral Health staff, with a combined 24 years of service working at our Clinic.  Our staff clinicians will help you with Alcohol and other drug prevention counseling and arrange for treatment options, and provide family, couple, individual, and student counseling.  They also offer psychological assessments, as well as psychiatric counseling and pain management.

Our Financial Services staff, with a combined 52 years of service working at the Clinic, handles all of your payment and insurance needs.  They make sure your insurance is billed properly, make sure that your payments post accurately to your account, and ensure that your financial questions are answered promptly.  Our Eligibility Specialist can help you enroll in discount and payment programs.

Our Community Services staff has a combined 33 years of service working at the Clinic.  If you are a Tribal member, you can enjoy congregate meals, as well as limited home visits including health screenings, and transportation services in case you can’t make it to the Clinic.  This staff also provides Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) services if you need them.  Traditional programs are held in the evenings for both adults and children.

Our Administration Department has a combined 42 years of service working for the Clinic.  From processing your referral to another specialist, to ensuring that your health information is safe and secure, to handling all administrative issues such as complaints (and compliments!), our Referrals staff, Information Technology staff, and Administration staff ensure that all other aspects of your visit are handled accurately and efficiently.
